The Challenge
In 2021 one of the world’s largest real estate investors, developers, and managers enlisted NYC based interior design firm Architecture+Information (A+I) to design the interiors of their new global headquarters in Houston, TX. The executive team at Hines wanted their new headquarters to project a highly sophisticated aesthetic and sensitivity to design and detail at every level. Office furniture was to compliment the space and demonstrate to their customers how quality and performance can truly distinguish a work environment. Their goal was to find an office furniture manufacturer that could accommodate the design features envisioned by the A+I team while still providing a state-of-the-art, proven furniture system. The new headquarters were expected to make a powerful brand statement to visiting Hines customers.
The Innovant Solution
For the workstations, Innovant confidently put forth CROSS, our 2019 NeoCon Gold winning sit/stand benching product and tailored the privacy, storage and materials to match the aesthetic they were looking for. CROSS offers an upscale aesthetic in its core engineering and was quickly accepted by the Hines team. Innovant’s design team worked closely with A+I and local dealer Debner to incorporate the key features, materials, and profiles that would make this iteration of CROSS unique to Hines. Storage construction, pull details, paint colors, and even custom designed biophilia were the most notable tailored aspects of the design. Workstation details also carried over into the private offices that were also engineered and manufactured by Innovant.
The Result
The collaboration with A+I and Innovant enabled Hines to achieve a signature, high-performance workplace for their headquarters both on time and within budget. The success of this collaboration will allow Hines to demonstrate to their customers the value of proper investment in space, furniture and design.
